Contest Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the Hardangervidda Wilderness Experience contest (the “Contest”). By entering into the “Contest” entrants agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. The Contest opens at 09:00:00 on 12.03.2019 (the “Opening Date”) and closes at 23:59:00 on 5.05.2019 (the “Closing Date”). No entries shall be accepted before the Opening Date or after the Closing Date. Entries are limited to one (1) entry per person. Entries not in accordance with the entry instructions are invalid.

  2. The Contest is open to persons aged eighteen (18) or over, who are residents of Belgium and Luxembourg. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are misdirected, lost, delayed, damaged or corrupted due to any computer malfunction, virus, bug, delay or other reason whatsoever or due to the failure of the entrant to complete all requested information required for entry. The Contest is specifically closed to employees of the Promoter, any associated companies, their families and anyone professionally involved in this promotion.

  3. In order to enter the Contest, entrants must visit www.berghaus.events and take part in the quiz answering five questions. Entry can be made on the website only.


  5. There will be five (5) winners (the “Winners”) of the following prize: One (1) expedition for five (5) persons with BOLD Expeditions (“BOLD”) to Hardangervidda Wilderness (the “Prize”): The Prize includes:

    • 6 day fully escorted expedition with experienced outdoor instructors
    • All accommodation: wild camping in tents and 1 night cabin
    • Food and drinks during the expedition
    • Local transport in Norway

    The Prize does not include flights or insurance for the Winner(s) and certain equipment which will need to be provided by the Winner(s)(as notified to the Winner when he or she claims their Prize). The Winner(s) is solely responsible for: (i) providing their own comprehensive travel insurance; and (ii) ensuring they have valid passports and visas for the destination of the Prize, both of which are a condition in order to claim and participate in the Prize.

  1. The prize dates are fixed from 17th-25th August 2019. The Winner(s) must book their Prize with BOLD Expeditions before 31st May 2019 by submitting passport details. The Prize is valid for 1 adult aged 18 or over. Once booked, the Prize is non-changeable and non-refundable.

  2. The Winner(s) acknowledges that the Prize will be physically strenuous and demanding and the Winner(s) is aware of the nature of the Prize and associated medical and physical risks involved. The Winner(s) acknowledges that he or she will be hiking through difficult terrain and may be exposed to extreme elements and conditions.

    The Winner(s) agrees that: (i) he or she is physically capable of participating in the Prize; (ii) he or she has consulted their GP prior to travel if they are concerned about any medical issue that may affect their ability to travel; (iii) he or she shall be solely responsible for his or her actions; and (vi) the Promoter, its officers, employees, agents, affiliates, associated companies, sponsors or advisers are not responsible for any injury or illness that the Winner may suffer as a result of his or her participation in the Prize.

  3. The five Winners will be decided by the results of the online quiz and tie-breaker question. The Promoter’s decisions shall be final. No correspondence will be entered into.

  4. The Winners for the Prizes will be drawn on 10.05.2019. The Winners will be contacted by email by 15.05.2019. Where the Promoter notifies the Winners by email, the Winners must provide confirmation of receipt by reply email by 24.05.2019. If the Winners cannot be contacted by either telephone or email by 31.05.2019 the Promoter reserves the right to select another winner from the remaining eligible entries and thereafter until a winner is found.

  5. The Winners agree to take part in post-Contest publicity at the request of the Promoter. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to the Promoter’s unrestricted use of any post-Contest publicity for the Promoter’s own purposes in all activities including, without limitation, marketing and promotional activities worldwide including use on the Promoter’s websites and social networking platforms.

  6. The Prize(s) may be altered or varied at the Promoter’s sole discretion and substituted with a prize which, in the Promoter’s sole opinion, is a suitable alternative. No cash alternatives are available. The Prizes are non-transferable and may not be sold, offered for sale, coupled or bundled with any other product or services or used for any commercial or promotional purposes whatsoever.

  7. Once the prize has been administered, the Promoter shall seek permission from the Winners to share the Winners’ names on www.berghaus.events after 01.06.2019. The Winners names shall only be made available by the Promoter once consent has been obtained from the Winners.

  8. Personal data which is provided by you when you enter will be processed in a database for the purpose of managing entry into the Contest. By providing us with any personal information, you consent to the processing and storage of your personal information for this purpose. If you withdraw your consent, you will be withdrawn from the Contest.

  9. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions and/or cancel the Contest at its sole discretion.

  10. The Promoter of this Contest is Berghaus Limited, 12 Colima Avenue, Sunderland Enterprise Park, Sunderland, SR5 3XB, United Kingdom.

  11. To the maximum extent permitted by law the Promoter and its related entities shall not be liable for any claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for damages or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with receipt, ownership and/or use of the Prize(s).

  12. By entering this Contest entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. All entry instructions form part of these Terms and Conditions. English law governs this Contest and each party submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
